Karns was gonna use those Celestions again, They sound good but the Build quality is absolutely cack as are the cheap looks..I think that is the reason i put them away in the first place. In fact im gonna take them to charity shop...

Bought a pair of early 80's Mordaunt Short 'Festival 3'.. These sound great i used to have both 'Festival 3' & the slightly bigger 'Pageant 3'.. I love the giant Sock type Speaker cloth & Wood panel that just clips into the top & ofc the matching stands..

Exactly the same as these below but the Wood on top is a lighter shade in much better condition. I paid no where near that, They should be here Friday at the latest..

Sony 'SS7000' which were B&W 'DM-70' [European Version].. That is a very good price but the Electrostatic Panel will need servicing which would have to go to Shackman in Germany.. Cabinets need a lot of work & need professionally Re spraying.

Not classic but highly unusual at the time.. Be mid 70's was Castles 2nd offering 'Howard, Mk.1'.. I bought a pair of these off a mate in the 80's no realising how big they actually were when i got them home, They are around 2 Foot wide & a virtual cube design.. As with the Mk.1 'Conway' they were available with bolt on low level Metal stands of Fancy Queen Anne legs &  veneered  Frame style Grill..

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Mk.2 Howard' was a totally different design as was the 'Mk.2, Conway'..

Anyway back to mine. I manage to get these into an Austin 'Maxi' took em up to Castle in Skipton to have a couple of mods done on them.. I remember mates'Maxi' Hydroelastic Suspension giving up about 5 miles short of coming back home  Razz  I have to admit i had a serious Castle fettish back in the 80's.. Had every single model with exception to the very last ones like the 'Stirling' for very good reason.

Very rare in this country.. AR 'LST'.. But very good.

in fact they made a matching amplifier & tuner as well as a Receiver & Turntable [XA] which were also great.. Do not confuse these with the later system & TT's they made
