It was the air flow sensor. Blown it out. Disconnected the battery for a couple of hours to clear the Warning light. Not come back on which tell me it was that. Been down & bought a new one £35 fitted it, should have no probs with that again.. Cant get the car in till Thursday, he's just phoned they are very busy..

I blame the old Air filter for this. When we got the car a couple years ago, The air filter was absolutely Black & i mean black like it had never been Changed.. I hate twatz that do not get cars properly serviced. You want a Full service around every 12,000 miles. I service this every 6 months. I get a full service done, then two Basic services, then a full one again like that. We do not even do 10,000 miles in two years, more like 8,000 Mile.

Gonna get a new set of Spark plugs. I was gonna fit Iridium Spark plugs which last longer but i think i would prefer to Change the Copper ones when need be. This car will be changed in about 25, 000 miles for a newer car so im not really gonna bother tbh..

those  fancy plugs are such a gimmick.

plugs needs to be changed every 25 to 35k no matter what kind of unobtainum they're made of.

only use NGK resistor plugs. they offer a dual ground electrodes just like aeroplanes

spark plugs will go 100k miles easily.
i have had vans that have gone over 200k on a set and still perfect..only change em when the electrode is worn out..

the problem  with platinum, iridium, is when they quit working they dont look any different than one that is.

at least with a resistor plugshows its age and how well that cylinder is firing

maybe

i have driven over 2 million miles shity in my life..probably closer to 3 million...diesels in the last 20 years though.. all my driving only ever had a few problems..electronic ignition was the greatest thing to come along.
points were the main problem with cars back then.

if those fancy plugs were any good they would use them in aeroplanes and race cars but they dont.

modern diesels go forever as long as u avoid ones with a cambelt.

my work mates hyundai diesel 130 has gone 400 000 miles from new and still runs perfect..
