You ever tried phoning PayPal? Always some foreigner who can hardly speak English. They can’t even deal with easy stuff like refunds or chargebacks. You can tell they are reading to you and they are usually either really thick, or have no clue about the services PayPal provides. It’s a bigger waste of time than emailing them. That’s why I went down the email route in the first place. If anyone else wants to have a go, they are welcome, but I’ve tried and given up on PayPal. Won’t stop me highlighting on here what Dunn’s getting up to though.

If you can... Do it !
Phone calls ... actually talking to someone is the only way you can actually get anything done about anything anytime.
Texts and email just get binned .  I know... We do it at work ! I swess . Any complaints by pooter.... In the bin ! That's the way of it I'm afraid.

C
PayPal action would really hurt him too. If they suspend his account he loses his main way of taking payment an he also loses any ability to sell on eBay. That’s because you have to offer PayPal in order to sell.

He’s clearly breaking the rules and yet there’s no effective means of reporting it. I did a bit more reading and someone suggested [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] so will give that a go, but I doubt I will get anywhere.

Tbh i do not think there is anything you can do with PP. the fees are still being paid by the gift sender and not the Vendor.

Nope, as far as my experience goes, nobody pays fees with PayPal Gift unless the recipient is overseas and needs a different currency. So PayPal are losing money.

Just checked although I was pretty sure anyway

“It's free for your friends or family to send money through the PayPal mobile app, from a bank account or Paypal balance. ... If the recipient doesn't have an account with PayPal, they can quickly open one. If you're selling goods or services it only costs 2.9% “

I’ve sent plenty in my time. It’s also a regular on PFM classifieds. Nobody pays as long as they declare they are sending a gift to firends or family.

That’s their “sluuurppp” for the overseas transaction. I send money to a few charities. One is in the USA and I get stung too.

And a bit more from Paypal Community:

A “gift” (or friends / family payment) is intended as a transfer of funds from family or friends to one another. For this reason, there is no processing fee when payment is made with bank or PayPal balance. On the other hand, as it is a “gift” payment, there is also no Buyer protection as no goods or services should have been exchanged.

If he was not a close mate or family member you should never use that option as it enables the seller to evade his paypal fees and negates your buyer protection at the same time. Scam sellers often ask for payment that way as they know this.
You also risk having your account limited for using this option when you are purchasing goods.

Well now he’s resorted to flogging his tat from hos car boot for cash or PayPal (likely Gift again)

I want to avoid taking too much back so if anyone wants to have any of the dem units they can collect at end of show - 20% discount. Paypal or cash.”

FFS he’s like a toxic Delboy. Even Wiki warns people against this sort of thing:

You better be keeping receipts and putting these sales through the books Fatboy, because it’s all up there on the end and ready for the Tax man to sift through.
