JERICHO OF SCOTLAND YARD (BBC, 2006, series 1+2)

The first episode is called "A Pair of Ragged Claws".

Wot with my being a pwog masterman anorl -and hence very educated in the fine arts- I immediately recognized this as a line from TS Eliot's "Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock". So I thought, "How clever! I wonder how they are going to work this into the story."
Turns out THEY DON'T. Its just smacked on as a title.

There is a scene where the detective is going through someone's apartment and happens upon the poem . And its left at that! The line is never reffered to again; it is not somer sort of clue. The apartment wasn't even that of the murderer or victim.
